December Report 2016

Summary

We're still doing pretty good. Despite being on holiday during for much of December, Jayden and I managed to crank out some new things for the demo video only three days late than our normal 10th update. The goal was to get the game in a state where we can start play testing from very beginning. So very very early testing has begun where we can finally hand off the game to someone else and they can 'play' and 'explore'

Programming

We set it up so when the player first enters the world they are greeted by an NPC which will direct them to the mayor to pick up their voucher for their plot of land. We also added a compass which can be used to pinpoint the direction an NPC may send the player for a quest. Much of this month was spent fixing bugs and trying to optimize certain systems. We have only a handle of things to put in that should be wrapped up next month and then most of moving forward will be polish and cleaning up the systems we have in place.

 New things added

We have a lot of work to do on the world building side of things. We worked on the bars, restaurant, post offices, and the Mayor's office of Pumpkinvale. We also added many more eyes and mouths for the character customization. As well as some new decor and paintings to set dress everything.

Moving Forward

Goals for next demo video

- House customization

- Player profile

- Get the game at a state for a good trailer for steam greenlight

- Fix a lot of bugs

- Test playing among close friends.

We have a lot of work to do, but we definitely see a 2017 Beta release somewhere around summer. Thanks again guys for your support.
